FREE Community Clay Day

June 27th

Classes at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm

We love Carrboro and we want to say THANK YOU! Join us for this FREE day of clay to celebrate our sweet little community here. This event is meant to give back to our neighbors and give folks a space to create and connect.

How does it work?

  • Arrive at the studio for your selected timeslot

  • Learn how to throw a piece on the wheel

  • Create a piece of your very own

  • We glaze and fire your work

  • You pick it up 3 weeks later!

Donations are optional and will help us be able to host more events like this in the future!

RESERVATION REQUIRED. LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE.

Who can participate?

No experience needed! Recommended age of at least 12 years old to participate. Reservations are required for all participants.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved timeslot.

  • What happens in the class?

Your instructor will demonstrate how to throw a bowl on the potter’s wheel. Each student will aim to create 1 unique piece of their own. We’ll take care of the firing and glazing!

When will my work be ready?

Ceramics can be a time consuming process. Your creations must go through a long drying period, glazing, and 2 kiln firings before they’ll be ready to take home. This can take around 3 weeks. We promise it’s worth the wait.

    How do I prepare?

Wear comfortable clothes that you’re okay with getting little messy. The clay will wash out, but the memories last a lifetime.

Long hair? You’ll want to tie it back. Rings, watches, and bracelets can be tucked away for the duration of your class.

    Where can I park?

You can take advantage of the free public parking located all around Carrboro.

Parking deck located behind 300 E Main St.

Parking lot located at 108 E Main St.

  • Clayboro Studios is not liable or responsible for any accidental injury to students or any loss or damage to personal possessions.

Students must collect work within 60 days of their class. After 60 days, pieces are subject to removal from the premises.

Ceramics can be unpredictable. The goal is for each student to take home a completed work of art; however, sometimes things go wrong in the kiln. While we do all we can to keep your pieces safe, Clayboro Studios cannot guarantee satisfactory results.
